The Jack Petchey Foundation and First Give partnership

We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Jack Petchey Foundation as we embark upon our second year. The Foundation's commitment will ensure that the First Give programme will be delivered to 25 schools across the South East - helping more young people to use their time, tenacity and talents to improve their local communities

Now celebrating its 15th year the Jack Petchey Foundation was established to recognise the positive contributions young people make to society and to support them in achieving their potential. This year the Foundation reaches the milestone of having invested £100 million a wide range of 2,000 youth initiatives across London and Essex.

Jack Petchey CBE said: “I think it is so important that we learn to ‘give something back’ to society. All of us have a responsibility to help others in need. It isn’t always about money either, you can give practical help, volunteer your time etc. At the Jack Petchey Foundation we encourage all the young people we have contact with to think about what they can ‘give back’. Giving makes us better people and often you find you get more out of it yourself than you have given!”

Tim Pare, First Give’s Director said: “With the charity sector going through a difficult period it’s important that young people know what a charity is and how charities support local communities. We are pleased to be able to extend our work with the help of the Jack Petchey Foundation.”
